It is a desperate situation, while the government is turning a blind eye to this, the introduction of the IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) has made it worse. We believe that Britain is a great place to be, but only when existing immigrants are safe, and equally, treated the same way as all other citizens, in order to build a better life. Non-EEA immigrants are subjected to strong immigration policies, and their rights to social welfare, remain locked after many years of hardship.

In comparison with all countries in the world, Visa application and immigration charges have risen up at an unprecedented rate for the past 10 years while immigrants' level of life has remained the same. There are at moment an estimated 1.36 Million Non-EU Immigrants working, and contributing to the UK economy while in return, they do not have access to any benefits at all. Some have been living this way for over 30 years.

Making it right -

For over a decade, being an immigrant in the UK has been more challenging than ever. Populations, running away from war zones, and leaving behind a poor life, in search of a better one, mostly find the landing destination, here, in the UK. Living here is the most rewarding for an immigrant to be, but a steep price is being paid by those considered to be part of the minority ethnic groups. We believe that it’s possible for Great Britain to be a great place to be, whereas immigrants don't have to pay unfair charges to renew their stay, just because they live here and or, because they are foreigners.

The IWFA, is a young Association, the only Immigrant Association with a charitable mandate to offer help to Non-EEA Immigrants and the most vulnerable people, through a straightforward and easy-access grants scheme. We believe that we can make a huge difference in people's daily lives and to do so, we are counting on great people like yourself to support us to help those in immediate needs.
